InnoTech College is a post-secondary institution in Edmonton that offers technology related programs. It is often referred to as a Programming College because one of the programs it offers is an 8-month Programming Diploma, this diploma is designed to take students from knowing nothing about the IT industry, to being qualified for entry-level programming jobs.
As a Programming College, InnoTech College’s Instructors will teach you everything you need to know to be a great programmer, while providing you with a supportive environment to apply your knowledge and build your technical skills.
Unlike other Programming Colleges, InnoTech College starts with the basics, so if you’re nervous about taking a programming course because you have no previous programming experience, don’t worry, you will be taught everything you need to know.
InnoTech College offers a class schedule that fits your life schedule, its classes are delivered in the evenings and on the weekends. The class schedule allows for students with a daytime job to continue working while completing their studies.

What You Will Learn at InnoTech College
The program continues into .NET development where you learn about control flow, data types, ASP.NET, and how to use classes and objects. Next, you’ll learn about databases, the topics covered in this module are: the entity relationship model, querying, and database administration and programming. Lastly, you will learn about SharePoint, a Microsoft data management software that is used by most companies that have more than 50 employees. There is no other Programming College in Edmonton that accepts students with no previous programming experience into its SharePoint Programming courses.
How You Will Learn at InnoTech College
The Programming Diploma is structured to include two lectures and one lab each week, this allows students to learn course material with the instructor and then apply this knowledge in a collaborative lab, where the instructor provides one-on-one support. The instructors are also available to meet with students one-on-one, outside of the class time, to provide additional support and tutoring.
On the first day of classes all the students receive a laptop that is preconfigured with all the required software and access to online applications. InnoTech College provides these computers to ensure all the students have access to the same technology, and it also allows students to work seamlessly with the instructor and with each other.

The job market for programmers is in a state of growth, meaning the skills and knowledge you learn as a programmer will be increasingly relevant and in-demand for the foreseeable future. As you develop your technical skills as a programmer there will be continuous opportunities for advancement as there are always new innovations and creations being developed. You will able to work when and how you want, there are part-time, full-time, and contract positions available, and there are opportunities to work locally or remotely. What are the admission requirements for the Programming Diploma Program?
All applicants to the Programming Diploma must complete the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam, this is a 12-minute exam that tests basic numeracy, literacy, and problem solving skills. This is completed with an InnoTech College representative during an in-person enrollment interview. Lastly, all students are required to pay a $500 enrollment fee that is deducted form the total tuition amount.
Is there government student funding available for this program?
Yes, InnoTech College is an accredited educational institution under the Private Vocational Training Act. Therefore, students are eligible to apply for government student funding to cover the cost of tuition and living expenses while they’re in the program. During this process students also automatically apply for low income, dependents, and disability grants from the government.
What is included in the tuition?
Included in the tuition is all materials you will need for the program and a laptop rental, access to all the required software, in-class and remote instructor support, and assistance with internship and job placement. The total cost of tuition is $10,440, which includes the enrollment fee.
Is there an internship included in the program?
Yes, there is a 3-week internship included in the 8-month Programming Diploma, the internship is completed at the end of the program. Students can find their own internship opportunities or they can utilize the support of the Student & Industry Relations Coordinator to help them set up an internship at one of the many companies in Edmonton that InnoTech College has developed strong relationships with.
